Getting Ready

all seasons in one day 15 °C

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my first blog entry. I'm going to be writing this in English, mainly to get into the atmosphere :)
There are 13 more days to go before my great journey starts. Today, I bought a new daytripping backpack (Lowe Alpine 18 litres, beautiful brown and grey tones) which I'm completely in love with. Can't wait to take my new buddy out with me! I've got all my stuff together; earplugs and eyemask for easy sleeping, tiny toothpaste and deodorant, quick drying towel (also tiny, I don't think I'm gonna be able to dry my hair so let's hope for hot weather) and my mp3 player has been armed with a good stack of music (now playing: Radical Face - Welcome Home. Not entirely suitable to the situation but a fantastic song all the same). I've added Frank Sinatra's New York, New York, to play upon entering the city. Never too early for some good old sentiment ;)
I've been reading Bill Bryson's The Lost Continent to get in the mood. He nearly got me doubting there with his fantastic cynical view on the endless landmass that is America. Any recommendations for some travel-moodsetting?

My next entry might just be coming from the wonderful city of Toronto, Canada. Or perhaps I won't be able to refrain from posting my guts here once they've wrenched themselves out, probably in a week or so.
